New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, and New House!

We did it! We closed on Monday and now have in our possession on the keys to our new house. Closing went without a glitch and we were in and out of there in less than an hour (at least it seemed that way).

I mentioned that we were considering going camping in the house Monday night, but I was too tired and needed a good night’s sleep. As it happened, Karis, Isaiah, Gloria and I all took a long road trip Sunday afternoon which really wiped me out.

While mommy and Abigail went down for a Sunday afternoon nap, we jumped in the van and headed south. Before we knew it we were in Raton, New Mexico. If you look at your map you will see that this is only about one hundred miles from Texline, Texas. So we just kept driving, past old volcanoes and eight foot drifts of snow.

Once we hit Texas we realized that it was only another twenty miles to the Oklahoma boarder. So we celebrated Oklahoma’s centennial by crossing their board.

Anyway, we didn’t get in until after 10:30 Sunday night. But the kids were still set to make it to Kansas or anywhere. “One more state dad? Please!”

By the way, you'll note that it was already dark when we arrived in Texas, that's okay, our senses were overloaded as it was by the strong cow manure fog.

Chris, you are pretty much insane. Not in a bad way though. I just don't know too many people who let their Sunday afternoon drive turn into a 4-state romp. Why do these crazy aspects of your character never surface when I am in the vehicle with you?
